American Muslim Youth Movement

There is definitely a move to keep Muslim youth in the faith. Here is one example here in Dallas that has been very effective keeping the whole family on Islam's  track. Get more info here.

New Friends

Meeting people in Dallas can be very multicultural. It is interesting that some priest in the temples do not have much opportunity to mix with the local Texans because their work is mostly with the people from their own country and language. Here are a couple places I visited this week.

Islam and Christianity becoming more alike

“Islam in Europe is becoming more and more like Christianity — only we don’t want to recognize it.” So the French philosopher Olivier Roy, leader of the National Research Center in Paris, stated lately to the Zürich “Sonntagszeitung” newspaper. The Internet pages of Muslim congregations in France and Germany, for example, are written in French and German respectively, the political scientist stressed. He especially criticized the Minaret Ban of last November in Switzerland. For the minarets are an attempt to become more like Christianity. They demonstrate the desire of creating Muslim congregations that are conspicuous and that function similarly to Christian congregations, so Roy said.

U.S. Muslims Double by 2030 by Eric Reed

The Muslim share of the U.S. population (adults and children) is projected to grow from 0.8% in 2010 to 1.7% in 2030, making Muslims roughly as numerous as Jews or Episcopalians are in the United States today. Pew Research reports, "Although several European countries will have substantially higher percentages of Muslims, the United States is projected to have a larger number of Muslims by 2030 than any European country other than Russia and France."
